CERTIFICATION OF THE “TACORONTE-ACENTEJO WINE ROUTE”

At the beginning of the current year and after a lot of very hard work carried out by the Managing Body and its associates, The Tacoronte-Acentejo Wine Route was certified as one of the Wine Routes of Spain, making it the first in the Canaries with such a distinction and ninth in the whole of Spain. The certification was granted by the General Secretariat of Tourism and ACEVIN (Spanish Association of Wine Cities).
For this reason, the International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2007), which was hosted in Madrid from the 31st of January to the 4th of February, was selected for the official presentation at both the Canaries stand and ACEVIN’s, which was attended by a great number of professionals (tour operators, travel agencies, mass media, etc., as well as VIP's such as the President of the Government of the Canary Islands and the President of the Island Council of Tenerife, amongst others. This event was amazingly successful in terms of both attendance figures and the Project’s general acceptance.
Tacoronte-Acentejo Wine Route, incorporated as an association, is made up of nearly 40 partners, divided into public administrations and private entities, of which 18 establishments are part of the business (restaurants, wineries, lodging, museums and specialised shops). These establishments are those that are promoted in the Route’s advertisement material and are committed to offering high quality professional services to visitors of the Route's wine regions. However, this is an open association which any individual and/or establishment can participate, as long as they have the characteristics, they offer products and/or services that are relevant to the wine world, they request participation and are committed to working with a system of quality and authenticity that will guarantee the Project’s durability.
